Leanne Kelly is a San Francisco Bay Area-based vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, media composer, and music educator, with a background in psychotherapy. A Los Angeles native, she attended USC’s Thornton School of Music where she studied both Vocal Jazz and Psychology before relocating to the Bay Area.

The product of a mixed heritage household, music was an important factor in bringing her parents together across diverse backgrounds. Their creative and musical histories set the stage for Leanne and her siblings to begin a lifelong dedication to the practice, performance, and enjoyment of song.

Leanne writes music for a variety of media, composes with industry-leading music library ALIBI Music, and has provided vocals and keyboards to a variety of music projects in both live and studio environments. She also has music available for licensing via her indie pop project, New Spell.

Under the moniker New Spell, Leanne specializes in creating artfully textured, dynamic songs, pulling from her background in mental health to write poignant lyrics about the digital age, climate change, and the human experience. Working alongside producer Max Savage has yielded dynamic, cerebral songs with haunting vocals, glitchy beats, and a mesmerizing modern synth aesthetic.
